This month feels like it has flown by! We have been busy with doctor appointments, signing Felix up for preschool, Felix's classes, family time and getting ready for Oscar.
Earlier this month we signed Felix up for preschool, starting in the Fall. We weren't planning on sending him because we felt that all the classes he has been in have helped with socialization and growth. We changed our mind after talking about it and felt that it might be good to start out slow and only put him in a two day a week, two hour class. It will help him and me transition into the next phase of growth for him and allow him to be on his own a little. It will also be nice to have a little one on one time with Oscar when he gets here. A little piece of me is heartbroken, but I know it will be great and Felix will love it.
Last weekend we took a day trip to the coast. It was great! The weather was chilly, but with blue skies. It actually couldn't have been better! Walter took us to Netarts, Tillamook, Garibaldi and Rockaway. Walter first came to the United States when he was a young child and these small towns were where he called home. He likes to go back every so often to take us all on a tour of his world. I love it so much and think it's amazing how much he remembers. This part of his life wasn't always the best, but he likes to tell his story an share his world with the kids and me. It was such an amazing day, driving by the different houses he lived in, the school he went to, the church he attended and all his friends houses. Everyone had a great day and it was fun seeing a smile on everyone's face.
Easter weekend was a lot of fun this year. Yesterday we started the day off with a trip to Silverton for pizza at a friends pizza cart. It was delicious and so great to see how successful the business is! After pizza we drove to the tulip festival in Woodburn. The tulip festival is one of my favorite traditions Walter and I have started since we bought our house. He really has followed my lead and loves all the tulips almost as much as me. It is really fun and beautiful! This was opening weekend, but it was great. Felix loved the kid area and had a lot of fun on the slides.
We headed home for dinner, egg dyeing and egg hunting at Mor Mor's house. Felix was excited for his basket and loved searching for eggs. Felix slept in this morning, but woke up to find his basket full of goodies. He had told the Easter Bunny at the mall that he wanted a baby Cookie Monster, Abby Cadabby and Elmo. He was pretty excited to see that the bunny left two of them in his basket. After eating his chocolate bunny and getting dressed, we headed down to Stayton to celebrate with Walter's family. We had a lot a fun with his parents, sister and her girls. Felix really liked playing with the girls and had fun following his cousins around. We ate brunch, had cupcakes and enjoyed watching the kids hunt for eggs. The weather was beautiful all weekend!
It has been a great, fun filled month! This week brings a new chapter in our lives...Felix starts soccer at the community center! We are so excited for this to start and to see how he develops! Gooooal!!!
