Easter Weekend

This weekend was perfect! The weather was beautiful and we spent it with family!
Felix had his first swimming lesson Saturday. Walter and I were a little worried since he does not like water in his face and has only been in a pool one time before. Felix did so well and had a lot of fun. He tried things we never thought he would. He was jumping off the side of the pool, blowing bubbles in the water and totally LOVING it! We left with Felix asking to go back...Swimming lessons were a success!
Our family from Seattle came to town for Easter. Felix and Satchel are only a few months apart and are into a lot of the same things, which is really fun. Saturday, we played at the park, dyed eggs, made bead bracelets and barbecued. The weather was beautiful and it was really fun to be with family.
The Easter bunny visited our house and dropped off baskets for all three kids. Felix woke up to many special presents; trains, garden tools, a wind up ducky, treats and a couple other little treasures. Walter, Felix and I got dressed and headed to Mor Mor's for breakfast, egg hunting and more celebration. The three little boys were all together and had a good time searching for the eggs. Mor Mor had Easter baskets for the kids, filled with all sorts of goodies. It was hard to say goodbye to Signe, Chris and Satchel, but we know we will see them soon...even if it is on FaceTime.
We missed Cameron and Madison, but we're so happy to talk to them. Their baskets are patiently waiting their arrival!
This was a great weekend! It was busy, but so much fun. Lots of laughter, smiling and sunshine!

D Day

Two years ago today was my delivery date! With all the planning I did all along, this was the date Felix was going to make his appearence....Well, I guess you cannot plan this!

As most people know, Felix was born four and a half weeks early. It came by total surprise. I was feeling great...look wise, EWWWW! I was HUGE! I was at work, my arm was going numb. I thought that he was probably on a nerve and wasn't too worried. I called the doctor to just let them know, they told me to check in at Good Sam...I followed the doctors order, but had to stop by home first to make sure my legs were shaved and that I looked decent enough...oh and to wake Walter up!

As it turned out my blood pressure was extremely high. They had me stay the night so I could be monitored. One night led to several! I was here for what felt like eternity! By the seventh day I woke up with an irregular heartbeat, that was when Dr Cohen decided it was time. She said my body was in too much stress and that Felix needed out. By 1:16 on February 2nd my greatest joy was here!

For such a scary experience, Dr Cohen did an absolute amazing job! Walter and I were so scared! They told us there was a chance that Felix would be transfered to Emanuel and that I would have to be admitted to ICU for my irregular heartbeat. They told me that with boys, usually this early, their lungs aren't developed. So, in my head all I could think about was being seperated from him...I was hysterical! I remember making a plan with Walter in case that happened...Felix was born completely healthy! Lungs were developed, he came out crying! He was a big boy for being my little preemie and everything turned out fine!

Nothing fit him! He was too small for his carseart, we had to put padding all around him! He had no clothes to wear except one gown...He was so small and even though he wasn't considered a preemie in size, he was the tiniest little person I had ever seen! The 7lb twins next to him looked like giants!

Happy 2nd due date to me and happy to have a healthy growing boy!

25 Months

Today marks Felix's 25th month! Walter and I feel that in the last month he has really grown up...

So many words and sentences;
"Baby yellow bus"
"You're welcome"
"I love you"
Ada
Walter
"Good morning"
Chicken eggs
"Help me mama"
"Choo Choo track"
Percy
Heart
Red
Yucky
"Mor Mor's house"
"Dada's car"

I know I am missing so many , but those are the most recent.

He has also been really into interactive play. He loves to have his trains or little people talk to each other and wants us to play right along with him. He also likes to pretend different objects are "Mama", "Dada" and "Baby"...I love his imagination!
He is super picky and only likes a handful of food, but has been trying new things. Dr Birk suggested that he start taking Omega 3 vitamins, which Felix calls a "treat". He does follow in his mama's footsteps and LOVES sweets...Great!
He is a very timid little person. He hides behind his hands and will cry if strangers talk to him. Once he is used to someone, he really opens up and is all over them. Right now he is attached to me (which I don't mind). He sure does love his family though!
This is such a fun age and although I am exhausted by the end of most days I think this is my favorite stage so far! I'm sure I will be saying the same thing when he hits the next stage!

V-Day Love!

I had the day off and enjoyed spending it with two of my Valentines. Felix and I visited with family and hung out with one of his long lost uncles during the day.
Once Walter woke up we headed home to have a delicious dinner and to make dessert. We exchanged presents and cards with each other...all I can say is I have a great partner! He is so thoughtful and always buys me perfect gifts and cards! Felix got a gift bag full of fun stuff...train, car, bubbles, bathtub toys, a Valentine cup and a little candy.
I love my time with my boys, I wouldn't trade it for the world!

Love you WRGA and FRG! You both are perfect in every way and fill my heart with love!

Golden Day for FRG!

I cannot believe another year has flown by! This year has been so much fun and I have loved watching all the different milestones. He amazes me everyday! I love his beautiful hair, the way he says "yellow", his sweet kisses, when he asks for a hug, the unconditional love he has for his baby and "ah ah", his big dimple smile and the three different birthmarks that are slowly fading away.

I still feel very fortunate that I am not away from him all day, everyday! I have been able to catch many of his exciting moments. My mornings with him are very special, we really have fun together! He is full of laughter, smiles, and a lot of love.

Walter and I took the day off of work to spend time with our boy! Doctor appointment, 1st haircut, toy store and a fun dinner will help Felix ring in his second year!

Felix Rene, you are more than I could have ever asked for! You make my life wonderful! Your laugh is amazing and your noni noni's make me smile! I love how very curious you are and how you are always up for an adventure! Happy Happy Golden Birthday my beautiful boy!

Christmas Traditions

Since I was younger, Christmas never really began until after my birthday. Walter and I have carried on that tradition in our house. We got our tree and decorated the house the weekend following my birthday. This year didn't feel as festive in the beginning, probably due to our two car accidents and being without a family car (total bummer)! We bought a new car and our fun traditions soon followed! We went to Peacock Lane, Victorian Mansion, Zoo Lights and PIR! Peacock Lane and Zoo Lights are an every year tradition for us. I have been to the Victorian mansion many times, but we don't get there every year. PIR was a first for us all and it was beautiful. The kids loved the whole thing.

We celebrated Christmas at Mor Mor's on Christmas Eve. The 5 cousins were all together and had fun playing. It is a lot of fun watching them all open their presents. Christmas morning we all wake up to see what Santa brought us and my dad came over a little bit later to give his gifts. The kids got some fun toys this year! Christmas night we went out for our traditional Chinese dinner. It was delicious and fun!

I love this time of year! Our next stop will be Seattle this weekend! We are so excited to ring in the new year with Chris, Signe and Satchel!

Almost Two

Felix is 22 months today! This past month his language has developed so much! It is quite amazing!

What's he sayin:
"What's that"
"There it is"
Balls
Bubbles
Baby
"Hi"
"Bye Bye"
Mama
Dada
Papa
Mor Mor
GG
Up
Book
Hat
Hug
Star
Moon
*I am sure I am missing a few...

What's he singin:
Twinkle Twinkle
ABC's
He does the hand motions to "The Wheels on the Bus"

One of my favorites is he can tell you what just about every animal says!

Felix is still going to his music class, which he has grown to really love! He gets excited when I tell him where we are going and recognizes the building. He also started a class all about balls. It's hilarious to watch, he is the youngest in there. The teacher tries to get the 2 year olds to stretch before they play, funniest thing to see. Felix has no part of that, he just wants to kick the soccer ball, throw the baseball or make a basket!

This has been such a fun month and I just love the time I get to spend with him!
